About

This blog is a multimedia project looking at sustainability in the fashion industry – and if it can ever truly be achieved.

Business of Fashion, a statistic resource for the industry, found that the global fashion industry is the second most damaging sector on our planet – behind oil. As well as this, on average, it takes 20,000 litres of water to produce 1kg of cotton which could only be used to make ONE t-shirt and ONE pair of jeans (Business of Fashion, 2015).

This investigation looks into the main ways the fashion industry currently pollutes Earth and some of the ways this can change.

I hope this is both interesting and informative!
